Cosmic Timing

Planetary Cycles Key

The Seven Rays of creation channel through the 7 planets (including the Sun and Moon) in three important sequences:

1) The "Chaldean sequence" is the order of rate of celestial motion from Saturn (the slowest planet) to the Moon (the fastest point). This sequence clockwise around the circle gives the order of the planetary rulers of the zodiacal years: Saturn 2006; Jupiter 2007; Mars 2008; Sun 2009; Venus 2010; Mercury 2011; Moon 2012 (The zodiacal year begins and ends with the Spring Equinox). The reverse sequence (counterclockwise on the circle) is the order of the 24 planetary hours, another useful key to cosmic timing.

2) The order of the days of the weeks. This sequence is found by following the lines clockwise on the seven-pointed star from Moon / Monday to Mars / Tuesday and so on around the star. This is also the order of the planetary rulers of the 8 canonical hours important for daily scheduling. And, on a grander scale, it is the order of the seven millennium cycle that began in 4000 BC. We are currently ending a thousand years of Saturn and just beginning the Millennium of the Sun, the long prophesied thousand years of peace. The past few years have been a troublesome transition period. The influence of the new Sun era will be felt more strongly after Saturn goes direct May 30 2010 followed by the Total Eclipse of the Sun on July 11. This eclipse represents a great cosmic reset to the Sun Millennium.

3) Counterclockwise on the star is the order of the seven 36-year planetary periods. This 252 (7 x 36) year cycle is a key to global renaissance. Each 36-year period is ruled by a planet (including Sun and Moon) in the same sequence as the planetary rulers of the days of the week in reverse order. The sequence of these 7 planetary influences is the cycling of the 7 rays of creation of which the 7 primary colors and 7 musical notes are key elements. Over the course of 252 years (7 x 36 years) the rainbow of 7 colored rays alternate in their expression. Orange is the color of the Sun. Blue is the color of Venus. We're currently in a 36-year Sun period and in a Year of Venus. At the the close of each 252 year cycle a 36-year Sun period illuminates and sums up the whole. This is a renaissance time.

The 36 Year Cycles run in reverse order to the days of the week: Sun Period 1729 – 1764; Saturn Cycle 1765 – 1800; Venus 1801 – 1836; Jupiter 1837 – 1872; Mercury 1873 – 1908; Mars 1909 – 1944; Moon 1945 – 1980; and Sun Period again from 1981 to 2016.

The current Sun Period began at the Spring Equinox of 1981 and will conclude at the Spring Equinox of 2016. This 56th planetary period since AD 1 represents the missing apex of the Great Pyramid or 1/56th it's total height. According to prophecy this generation will cap the pyramid of the ages.

*** According to the Chaldean system, the first year of each 36 year planetary period is ruled by the same planet as the 36 year period. The present Sun period began with a Year of the Sun in 1981. This Sun period was preceded by a Moon period that began in 1945 (a Moon year). During this period the global women's movement was born. The previous Mars period, 1909-1944 spanned the two world wars, Mars is the god of war god. A 36-year Mercury period came before Mars. During this time many esoteric societies formed as befits Hermes.

Now, during this 1981-2016 Sun period, planetary energies that have emerged over the past 200 years are integrated and come to full conscious and creative expression. These times are periods of social renaissance, including the mid-1700 Age of Enlightenment and Italian Renaissance of the early 1500s. This is a 2 beat cycle of greater and lesser renaissance times. Every 500 years a new Phoenix is born, this is one of those times.

In esoteric astrology the 7 rays of creation are mediated by 7 "sacred planets," the five visible planets plus the Sun and the Moon. Of the five planets all are "sacred" except for Mars, a 6th ray planet that resonates with the sacred 6th ray planet Neptune. The energies of these two planets channel through Tuesdays and through the planetary hours of Mars. The Sun in this system veils an invisible 1st ray planet called Vulcan while the Moon veils and channels the energy of the 7th ray planets Uranus and Eris. Monday is Moon / Uranus / Eris Ray 7, Tuesday is Mars / Neptune Ray 6, Wednesday is Mercury Ray 4, Thursday is Jupiter Ray 2, Friday is Venus Ray 5, Saturday is Saturn (plus Earth and Ceres) Ray 3 and Sunday is Sun / Vulcan Ray 1.

The ray colors are: 1) Orange, 2) Indigo, 3) Green, 4) Yellow, 5) Blue, 6) Red and 7) Violet  Source: Esoteric Astrology, A.A. Bailey

*** Egyptian Rhythm: The Heavenly Melodies

http://www.egypt-tehuti.org/books/egyptian-rhythm-pg.html

To recognize the impact on Earth by the heavenly sounds, Earth is considered unmoving at the center of all things. The seven planets that have impact on us Earth dwellers are, from the nearest to the farthest: Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. The Moon, situated nearest to the earth, is the swiftest-moving body, therefore producing a note of the highest pitch. Saturn, the highest in the heavens (and farthest from Earth), produces the lowest pitch. The movement of the seven planets is melodious. The changing speed, direction, orbit distance, and sizes of the seven planets produce the seven natural tones known as the diatonic scale (Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Si). The natural tones of the seven planets provided the archetype for both the Ancient Egyptian music and the days of the week. The Ancient Egyptians were the first to adopt the seven-day week as a consequence of the harmony of the seven spheres.

"The original concept of the 'Music of the Spheres' is credited to Pythagoras (569-475 BC), a musical-mathematical-mystic, but its first surviving written account appears in Plato (c.427-347 BC). Plato gives a tour of the afterlife and a view of the planetary spheres. According to Plato the planets are hemispheres, nested inside of each other with just the rims exposed, all rotating on a giant spindle, with a Siren assigned to each rim singing a note... The concept of the Music of the Spheres probably found its greatest literal expression in the works of Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), who is now considered one of the founders of modern astrophysics. Kepler constructed a musical/mathematical theory of the solar system from which he derived his famous Kepler's Laws" - http://www.findyourfate.com/astrology/articles/MusicoftheSpheres.html

Kepler and the Music of the Spheres http://www.skyscript.co.uk/kepler.html

Plato, Pliny, Cicero and Ptolemy are amongst the philosophers of the ancient world who contemplated the music of the spheres. The doctrine was transmitted to medieval Europe where it found its most glorious expression in the architecture of great abbeys and cathedrals consciously designed to conform to the proportions of musical and geometric harmony. Kepler's measurements revealed ever-changing polyphonic chords and harmonies as the planets move between perihelion and aphelion. Furthermore, he had shifted the focus of celestial harmony from the Earth to the Sun: "Henceforth it is no longer a harmony made for the benefit of our planet, but the song which the cosmos sings to its lord and centre, the Solar Logos".

ASTROLOGICAL AGES, THE  RENAISSANCE CYCLE AND 2010

Plato named the 25,920 year cycle of precession "the Great Year." This long period wobble of the Earth on its axis causes the Spring Equinox to move backwards through the zodiacal signs marking the course of the Ages. Each Age is 2160 years or 1/12th the 25,920 year precession cycle. An astrological Age is often called a Platonic Month.

The current Piscean Age began in 108 BCE and  the Aquarian Age begins in 2052 with a transition period of well over 100 years. We are currently transitioning into a New Age that is portended by many world events and in works of fiction such as Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. The cycle of the ages is one of many long cycles converging in this time. The current convergence of the Mayan calendar, the Millennium cycle and the 500 (504) year Renaissance cycle, means the Aquarian Renaissance will have its inception some time between 2008 and 2012.

In western astrology, an Astrological Age is 60 periods of 36 years or 2160 years. In eastern astrology an Age is 36 cycles of 60 years which is also 2160 years.  60 years is key in Chinese or Eastern Lunar Astrology where 12 animal signs and 5 elements occur in combination for a complete cycle of 60 years.  2010 is a Metal Tiger year: "I am the delightful Paradox. All the world is my stage. I set new trails ablaze; I seek the unattainable and try the untried.." -Theodora Lau, The Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes 2010 is special because this is a White Tiger Year that only comes around every 60 years. White is the color given to the metal element in the eastern lunar astrology. The White Tiger is the cardinal Yin principle in Chinese Feng Shui. Thematically this works well for the Year 2010.

The 36-year cycle is an important key to western esoteric astrology. Each year of the 36-year cycle represents a decanate or ten degree part of the zodiac. Each year a new decanate (or decan) begins and a new mythic story unfolds. This story is revealed by the year's decan constellation and its corresponding tarot card.

The relationship between zodiacal decanates and the minor arcana is the subject of Tarot and Astrology by Muriel Hasbrouck.  This book explains how the designs for the Rider-Waite Tarot cards originated with a gathering of scholars in Fez, Morocco in the early 11th century.  Their purpose was to preserve elements of the ancient wisdom tradition for future generations "in a form that would rouse neither the suspicion of the Christians nor the destructive ferocity of the barbarians."  Original papers of this secret conference came into the hands of A.E. Waite by way of the Order of the Golden Dawn. So we have the Rider Waite Tarot  with its minor arcana reflecting the nature of the zodiacal decans. See Tarot and Astrology for more historical information and readings of the 36 decans.

Complementary to decan tarot cards are the "decan constellations" considered essential by ancient astrologers including Chaldean, Greek, Egyptian and Hindu. These "ultra-zodiacal constellations" were first restored to the western world by Elbert Benjamine's Church of Light Lessons published in 1923. A table listing the constellations appears in Stephanie Ennis’s booklet Decanates and Dwads printed by AFA in 1983.  Additional information about the Constellations of the Decanates is found at the Sanderson Beck site http://san.beck.org/Astro-Decs.html There is much value in understanding the decan signs especially as these are considered in relation to the tarot. The two approaches are complementary with the the tarot card often showing just how to meet the challenge and gain the opportunity represented by the decan constellation. It is by putting these two systems together (they are naturally) that the whole world becomes illuminated.

2009 was 2nd decan Capricorn or Delphinus the Dolphin year. The tarot card for this decan is the 3 of Pentacles. This year world attention was brought to the plight of dolphins with the release of The Cove, a film about the slaughter of dolphins that had been occuring each year in a secret cove near Taijii, Japan 33N36, 135E57. This part of Japan is located near the border of the Delphinus the Dolphin decan of Capricorn in the zodiac projected on Earth (140E - 150E). This zodiacal zone contains some of the largest dolphin pods in the world. The Cove won for best documentary at the 2009 Sundance Festival.  A beautiful video  "Dolphins play with bubble rings"  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMCf7SNUb-Q also appeared in Year of the Dolphin 2009.

2010 is a 3rd decan Capricorn or Piscis Austrinus (Southern Fish) year. Piscis Austrinus is called the Golden Fish because it drinks the stream from the urn of Aquarius and so symbolically makes flesh Aquarian dreams and ideals. Keynotes of this decan constellation are Inventiveness and Manifestation of an Ideal. Benjamin Franklin was born in this decan of Capricorn.  The Tarot arcanum for this decan is the 4 of Pentacles. Here ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pents04.jpg ) we see a kingly man seated before a great city. The golden crown with pentacle above his head represents practical creative focus while the hand mudra enclosing a pentacle signifies apt response to heart felt need. Pentacles underfoot means being solidly grounded. 2010 is a year to realize life long dreams.

Piscis Austrinus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piscis_Austrinus In Greek mythology, this constellation is known as the Great Fish and it is portrayed as swallowing the water being poured out by Aquarius, the water-bearer constellation... In Egyptian mythology, this fish saved the life of the Egyptian goddess Isis, she placed this fish and its descendants into the heavens as constellations..

Piscis Australis or Pisces Austrinus, the Southern Fish http://www.constellationsofwords.com/Constellations/PiscisAustralis.html
"According to Staal, the fish is often seen as a sign of salvation in the legends of a great deluge: 'The fish drinks the waters of the flood to save the world'." Following the flood comes the great fish. This is a prophecy for 2010.

The bright star Fomalhaut, the alpha star (lucida) of Piscis Austrinus  http://www.constellationsofwords.com/stars/Fomalhaut.html has long been associated with Aquarius and is called Aquae Ultima Fomalhaut. "It was the object of Sunrise worship in the temple of Demeter at Eleusis; and still later on, with astrologers, portended eminence, fortune, and power."

As mentioned above, each year is ruled by one of 7 planets according to rate of motion and Venus rules 2010.

In the Mayan calendar (Calleman Codex) Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli rules the time period 11/8/2009 - 11/3/2010. "Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli (Nahuatl for "Lord of the Dawn") is the god of the planet Venus, the morning star.. he is identified with Quetzalcoatl and paired with Xiuhtecuhtli, the god of fire."

"What I am suggesting is that the Oneness Celebration is the time for Quetzalcoatl to return... I do not mean by this that Quetzalcoatl is a person who is about to return. Rather this is an energy that will return by incarnating in the many of us who will participate in the transformation and recreation of civilization." - Johann Calleman http://www.greatdreams.com/mayan/mayan-calendar.htm
