 The best time to break addictions, wean babies or eliminate attachments of any kind is when the Moon is moving through the signs that rule parts of the body below the vital organs from Sagittarius (thighs) to Pisces (feet). Each month this vital energy wave flows through our bodies from head to toe as the Moon moves through the signs. When the Moon is going out of the signs we more easily let go of outmoded patterns and eliminate toxins physical and psychic. Every New Moon brings new magic and the more so the more we let go. This Feb 10^th New Moon brings opportunities to transform our world.

It's time to release from our lives all that prevents our dreams being realized. Letting go is easier at the going out of the signs and during the New Moon. Whatever impedes fulfilling soul purpose and heart's desire is highlighted for elimination now. Addictions and attachments bind our creative energies and prevent the flowering of the pure archetypes that we are, we need these magics now, it's time to set ourselves free to fully be. This is an opportunity to let go what's blocking the expression of new dimensions of being emerging through this time for this time. Old patterns breaking free energy for the new creation; as we shed the old we open to the wondrous magic of this new world.

The new year beginning carries shadows of the old year and old world; the Winter Solstice Sun brought these shadows to light. The Moon going out of the signs helps release these shadows of the past and this new lunar cycle awakens our inner powers so we can respond more appropriately and effectively to the challenges of our time.

The 2013 New Year time spirit (zeitgeist), seeded in the dark of the unconscious at Winter Solstice Dec 21-25 becomes fully conscious (and effectual) through the Lunar New Year Feb 10-25. By the end of this time the nature of 2013 and our part in it will be fully clear, we will know.

Dr John Ratey's fast run exercise can help release what needs to be let go especially in this out of the signs time. Remember the little ditty, it may sound silly but it works fantastically: "Hard and fast pump your thighs, let the holy spirit rise, 9 seconds does the trick, connects the circuit, lights your wick." Doing this exercise is like turning an ignition switch. Then reathing deeply through the crown (just 3 deep breaths) frees energy flow up and down the spine to clear away shadows of the old world and power on the new. This exercise can be key to breaking the chains of the Devil (Tarot key 15) and opening way for the Lovers (key 6), this is the promise of 2013.

This exercise is most easily done by just running in place as hard as possible first thing each morning (within 2 hours of Sunrise is best). This exercise is great for losing weight, lowering blood pressure and for regenerating brain cells (see Spark: The Revolutionary Science of Exercise by Dr John Ratey). The exercise triggers the release of the hormone catecholamine which courses through the blood stream continuously for 4 hours following the 9 second exercise. During this time energy is drawn from fat cells and conducted to muscle, nerve and brain cells.

These beneficial effects have been confirmed by health researcher Dr Stephen Boutcher in Australia. Boutcher has found that high levels of catecholamines are produced in the body from just 8 second sprint-type exercises. In Dr Boucher's words, "These are hormones that tell the fat cells to release their fat - especially abdominal and visceral fat so it can be burned by working muscles. We don't know why, but moving limbs very fast generates high levels of catecholamine." Fat is turned into energy, this exercise "lights your wick."

In addition to other health benefits, Dr Ratey found that blood is pumped directly to the prefrontal cortex for 4 hours following this 9 second exercise. Energy is focused in the higher brain which overrides the limbic or reptilian brain that is the source of impulsive and violent behavior. It's also interesting to note that Dr John Ratey is the same Harvard Medical School researcher who earlier invented prozac and other antidepressants and then years later discovered years that exercise (this exercise) works better without the side effects.

Dr. Ratey's exercise may be more effective when done in combination with two other simple exercises: First turn 3 times clockwise (Sunwise) with palms together overhead, next run for 9 seconds as fast as you can, then stretch hands and arms out wide and take 3 deep breaths fully in and fully out. This practice raises chi, frees the breath, opens the heart and releases muscle tension and body armor. I believe this series of exercises can help raise kundalini, open the 3rd eye and illuminate our soul purpose. And it can be done in less than a minute. My experience is it's easier and more effective early in the day and is a great quick starter first thing in the morning.

Raising primal energy to soul purpose is key to realizing our unique calling and purpose in the world. When enough of us (the hundredth monkey) experiences this then the fabled feathered serpent flies and the global kundalini will rise, this is the prophecy. This will be accomplished in the 2013 Year of the Snake. The planetary activation began during those numinous dates 21-23 Dec 2012 when the Sun aligned with our newly active galactic center. The astrological chart for this Winter Solstice encodes the challenges, opportunities and solutions to the problems and needs of this time. This chart reveals the New Heaven and New Earth.

It was a simpler time in the early 60s growing up in the North Carolina mountains when the only two things on the living room wall were a picture of Jesus and a planting calendar with a Moon sign illustration like the one below. My aunt Maude did everything by the Moon and she would take me to sit at the feet of her wonderfully Moon wise elder Aunt Tine (whose actual name was Plutina). I didn't believe most of this then, it makes more sense to me now.

What happens at this Winter Solstice Dec 21-24 depends on how we engage this cosmic alignment. We have an opportunity now to free ourselves from the trappings of the old world and begin anew. Karma is fate, dharma is destiny. Karma is in the body, it is chronic muscle tension that holds encoded past emotional memory. Dharma is our divine destiny revealed when karma is let go. It is time to free our chi and shed our karma, then we can get on with our true story.

Past world patterning or karma can be released through exercise (especially yoga) and through deep breathing fully in and fully out while focusing attention on the light of the crown, it can be as simple as that. Collective karma is the shadow of the age, this is up for clearing now. As we clear individual karma we clear the karma of the world.

The burning off of karma down here on Earth is mirrored by a great transformation about to happen at the heart of our galaxy as a great cloud of matter approaches the supermassive black hole there over the next few weeks and months. It is quite a coincidence that this is occurring in the time when the Mayans foresaw the Sun aligning with the heart of galaxy a.k.a Hunab Ku. As this obscuring mass burns away there's reason to believe we'll be illuminated in some way regarding our purpose on Earth.

Everyone is born with a unique divine purpose and special abilities with which to realize this purpose and this is all written in the pattern of the planets and stars at birth. Our inner nature and soul purpose can be realized at this cosmic turning time. Many were born for a time yet to be, a time that soon will be as we do what is needed to enter this new world. The way to hook up with the heart of the cosmos is go to a turning place (natural power spot) at a turning time (perhaps winter solstice Dec 21-23 Venus rise, Sunrise, noon or sunset) and turn, turn, turn... We turn Sunwise to clear the way between worlds, we dance and we sing to ring in the new light.

Carl Jung, the great Aquarian wayshower, used the quaint word 'osob' (os-ob) to represent our soul purpose. Jung also said that when this aspect of our being becomes activated it automatically attracts (through synchronicity) all that is needed (energies, materials and partnerships) to realize its divine nature. In 2012 the astral veil dissolves so all come to realize their true calling. Each who awakens becomes a catalyst for others becoming aware of their own guiding star. 

All who stand in light and love will experience an activation of their innate divinity and purpose at this Winter Solstice turn of the Age. This new knowing will unfold in our consciousness through the Season of Yule culminating on Epiphany Jan 6. Synchronicity rules with Love in this new time and this guiding spirit of all that is will lead everyone to true love and divine wisdom. 

2012 is the shift of the Ages, a convergence of cosmic cycles that brings global integration of consciousness and fulfills the prophecies of the ages, the myths of all time. A new world is being born and Love is at the heart of it, this New Age is configured by the reunion of yin and yang at a higher turn of creation’s spiral, whatever New Woman and New Man agree will come to be.

The New Venus, New Woman, is Venus become one with Persephone her deeper nature. She emerges as the Woman of Revelation "clothed with the Sun" who brings new feminine consciousness, an artful mindfulness and imminent being that is here and now, beyond words, fully aware. She is aided by a great Eagle in her struggle with the Dragon and she brings forth the New King. 

In this zodiacal year 3/20/2012-3/20/13 the prophecies of all ages begin to be realized,  great myths come to life, all that has been hidden becomes revealed, there is “a New Heaven and New Earth.” The last become first as innovators take precedence over the old status quo. There is also a “war in Heaven and Earth,” a war more psychic than physical as the old world shadow comes to light at the dawning of the New Age. The more this war is won on the astral plane the less war will be waged in the outer world. How this war is to be won is the subject of mythology and biblical lore. Guidance is to be found in the Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter books and in the works of Alice Bailey by which Tolkien was inspired.

People are generally far better than they now appear, there are no monstrous Orcs walking about yet there are a few astral demons that on occasion (usually in dark of the moon) possess someone to commit terrible acts of violence. This is the working out of old world shadow magic, an evil spell to be broken as we own our spiritual powers in this time. In esoteric tradition the world shadow is called the "dweller on the threshold" and it always appears just before Initiation.

At the end of 2012 the shadow of the old world emerges to be transformed as the great shift to the Age of Aquarius begins. Each Age lasts 2,160 years and the shift of the ages takes about 100 years with most of the changeover taking place in a 36-year Sun Period, a renaissance time that began in 1981 and concludes in 2016. During this transition the most powerful turning time is Winter Solstice 2012 and the Yuletide Season that follows from Dec 21 to Jan 6.

The best of what will be in the new world grows out of the best that was in the world before. The essential wisdom and magic and treasure of the past is to be remembered and brought forward into this new time. This is the basic story line of Tolkien's prophetic book The Hobbit. We are all on this sacred quest now: Our treasure has been stolen by a great dragon named Smaug who keeps it in the bowels of the Lonely Mountain, a pseudonym for mythic Mount Meru at the North Pole of the world. The dragon Smaug symbolizes the collective shadow of the passing age and this shadow is very real, a monster of terrifying power. It is the dragon that comes down from the North to shake the world at Ragnarok, the Norse war of the end time - which is now. 

The magic keys for our soul's liberation are Love and the fire connection with the heart of the Sun which is also Love. The Cherokee call themselves Tsali, "the people of one fire" meaning one with the Sun,"the elder fire" above. Every candle flame links with the transformative, liberating fire of the Sun. All hearts are one with this spirit fire and at Winter Solstice this year all who stand in love and faith become conscious of this unity and their own unique calling for the new Age of Light. This is our hope to be realized. Old world shadows are dispelled by the dawning of this new light within and this is why the powers of darkness are active now. Fears individual and global are shed through celebration. Whatever we appreciate appreciates, grows in influence, the good we celebrate grows more.

How can we prepare and align with this 2012 end time? I would say first that we do what's usually done to get ready for the Season of Yule: We deck the halls with boughs of holly, don gay apparel and be jolly. Remember holly is more than a symbol of the season, holly is an instrument for transformation. Holly points attract negative emotions transforming sadness into joy. Holly transforms shadows of the past year freeing energy for the new. The most powerful form for transformation is a circle or a wreath. The trick to creating a magic wreath is simply arranging branches in the same direction - ideally with stems pointing left so energy flows clockwise/Sunwise around the circle. The pointier the holly, the better. Wear gloves to handle it. The red berries bring abundance so get plenty of these.

An energy shift and new beginning occurs at every Winter Solstice as the Sun comes to the lowest point of its annual wave and then beginss a new cycle. This Return of the Light is celebrated in many forms including Hannukah and Christmas. The Druids called Winter Solstice Dec 21 the Day Out of Time and the Festival of Liberation, it is when our souls are set free to begin anew. The Druids would gather the sacred mistletoe on this day,it is when we traditionally go to the places of natural power (e.g. where the mistletoe grows) to connect with the Spirit and receive guidance through this divine window of time. The Druids built bonfires this day not to 'bring back the Sun' but to power on a new creation.

2012 is the Year of the Dragon when the Feathered Serpent flies (12/21-24), when the world experiences a cosmic Initiation and global kundalini will rise. That's if all goes according to divine design and enough individuals raise primal energy to soul purpose. There is a primal saurian within us that includes all passions and desires. Primal nature can be trained to accomplish great things, it is the source of all magic when trained to purpose. Merlin's great lesson to Arthur was "Don't let your passions destroy your dreams but train your passions to serve your dreams."  This is training our feathered serpent to fly. How so? Seek first the light of the crown and there visualize the heart's aspiration, then breathe up passion to power the dream.

The Dec 21 Solstice chart maps what will be unfolding through the coming year. The alignment of Venus with the bright star Antares (rising) in dynamic opposition to Jupiter with Aldeberan (setting in the west) is the subject of the Solstice Star Gate article below. In addition to the Venus/Jupiter Star Gate there is a great yod or 'finger of destiny' from Saturn sextile Pluto that focuses through Jupiter at 9 Gemini, the location of Boston in the Earth Zodiac. Jupiter is blessed now by being in mutual reception with Mercury. This means Jupiter is in Gemini a sign that Mercury rules while Mercury's in Sagittarius which sign Jupiter rules. Through this special resonance these planets act as one across each other's territories. This ongoing cosmic relationship between Jupiter and Mercury is symbolic of the partnership of king and wizard, Arthur and Merlin, Aragorn and Gandalf et al in mythic lore. The king and the wizard are again combining forces to bring us into a new age of light.

Jupiter the King, Venus the Queen and Mercury the Magician have some powerful helpers in the form of the potently transformative little planet Pluto and the great ringed giant Saturn . These two are also in mutual reception with Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio. Now as Pluto is moving slowly through Capricorn in close parallel with the North Node (our evolutionary direction and soul purpose) we are getting our marching orders from the cosmos.

While Saturn continues through Scorpio in mutual reception with Pluto the next 2 years all old world oligarchies will be broken up and there will be a total transformation of the global economic order. Simultaneous with this come a number of earth changing technological discoveries that will help bring peace and universal prosperity to the world. First we shed the shadow, then we bring in the Light, this is the way of transformation.

The Dec 21-23 Solstice Star Gate ~ The cosmic triangle formed by Mercury, Venus and Antares in the predawn sky is the most visible sign of the great shift of the ages that is now under way. Venus rising before the Sun is the Mayan Quetzalcoatl or Feathered Serpent prophesied to fly at the end of the old calendar age. This Venus phase was called Bennu or the Phoenix by the ancient Egyptians. The alignment of Venus with Antares in opposition to Jupiter with Aldeberan now activates a galactic star gate through which flows energies of higher consciousness that will be received by all who are open and ready for the new light.

Aldeberan and Antares are two of the four Royal Watcher stars considered of greatest importance by ancient astrologers. Aldeberan the Watcher of the East at 9 degrees Gemini is exactly opposite Antares the Watcher of the West at 9 Sagittarius. Astrologer Mark Lerner called this alignment "the nuclear axis" because the Sun and Saturn were conjunct these stars at the time of the first nuclear chain reaction and because this axis has been found active at great turning points in history and times of great change in human consciousness. As we learn more about these stars we will well understand why. 

Aldeberan and Antares are both giant red superstars: Aldeberan is 45 times the diameter of our Sun and more than 500 times luminous; Antares is over 800 times the Sun's diameter and more than 50,000 times luminous!! These are two of the most powerful stars in the sky. 

Being the alpha star (or lucida) of Scorpio, Antares holds the full nature and potency of this sign. Scorpio is the Scorpion that Hera (or Juno) sent to torment, test and train the young hero Hercules or Heracles (Hera's hero). Scorpio is the transformer, the purifier and trainer of the new consciousness. The nature of Antares is symbolized by Tarot Key XIII Death. This is the card of the 'death goddess' who presides over the death, rebirth and healing of the king. It is she who brings forth the true king and a new heroic human consciousness. Antares draws out, purges and transforms psychic shadow thereby clearing way for the new light of the soul. The shadow comes before the dawn of new light, this story is playing out now like never before. Venus the goddess of Love (grace, beauty and power to restore natural order) channels the energy of this new dawn light.

Jupiter the king is blessed now being in harmonic mutual reception with Mercury in a relationship symbolic of the partnership of king and wizard, Arthur and Merlin, Aragorn and Gandalf et al in mythic lore. Jupiter is doubly blessed in conjunction with the royal star Aldeberan. Venus with Antares represents the New Woman, the Queen of this new time while Jupiter with Aldeberan represents the new King. 

Aldeberan, the Eye of Taurus the Bull, is called the Eye of Revelation in esoteric astrology (AAB). It is also known as the star of the Buddha, Star of Illumination and God's Eye. Much more meaning can be found in this bright star's Tarot arcanum which is Key XII The Hanged Man. Depicted in this card is Odin who hangs suspended from the World Tree (the north polar axis) to receive the mystery of the Runes. In order to receive these mysteries Odin must sacrifice an Eye. "When thine eye becomes single thy body will be filled with light." These words of Jesus are instructive now. This is the illumination of the Hanged Man which literally means "suspended mind."

The Norse god Odin (or Woden) is identified with the Mayan god Pacal Votan whose sarcophagus cover image at Palenque depicts him seated back as if in a cockpit ascending a vertical column that is the World Tree (see Manly P. Hall's "Secret Teachings...").

Aldeberan is conjunct with Boston in the zodiac projected on Earth. This is most interesting because Boston is the ajna center of the great straight 7-city chakra energy line that begins with Mexico City / Tenochtitlan (where the "feathered serpent" has been coiled) and flows through Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York to Boston the brow center where this new consciousness becomes more fully activated. Many believe Boston is a reincarnation of Alexandria, the ancient center of learning. Both are famed for their great light houses that represent the ajna center of enlightenment. And Cape Cod looks rather like the serpent projected from the brow of the initiate in the Egyptian esoteric school. 

Raising primal energy to soul purpose is key to the current global transformation. Dr John Ratey of Boston has developed a simple 9 second exercize (e.g. run as hard as possible 9 secs) that causes blood to flow directly to the prefrontal cortex for 4 hours. This focuses energy in the higher brain over riding the impulsiveness of the limbic or reptilian brain that is generally the source of impulsive violent behavior. This exercise in effect raises the kundalini to open the 3rd eye so “the eye becomes single” and one with divine purpose. 

The Flight of the Feathered Serpent represents a global Initiation with the activation of two intercontinental 7-city chakra lines one western hemisphere and the other eastern. While Jupiter aligns with Aldeberan and Boston, Venus aligns with Antares and Chengdu, China on the eastern line. These city chakra lines correspond to twin energy flows up the spine in yoga tradition. The eastern chakra line is ida the lunar or feminine kundalina flow and the western line is pingala the solar or yang flow. When the Feathered Serpent flies in the West and the Dragon takes flight in the East then the world will experience the global activation or Initiation long prophesied. The Feathered Serpent is predicted to fly on the numinous dates 21-23 Dec 2012 when the Sun aligns with our newly active galactic center. 

There are forces of the astral shadow in both hemispheres that are trying to prevent this from happening but they are not being successful because human nature is far stronger than the astral shades. When this global awakening and coming to new consciousness occurs then the entire constellation of old world shadow will be dissipated. The shadow forces don't like this plan because its fulfillment means their demise. All we need do is walk in faith and love and love and we win.   

As we open to the light, our inner nature and soul purpose can be realized at this cosmic turning time. Many were born for a time yet to be, a time that soon will be as we do what is needed to enter this new world. We're being called to let go the trappings of the old world so we can move into the new. The simplest practice for releasing old world shadows is just walking or dancing in a clockwise direction or turning clockwise in this solstice time.

The way to hook up with the heart of the cosmos now is to go to a turning place (natural power spot) at a turning time (perhaps winter solstice Dec 21-23 Venus rise, Sunrise, noon or sunset) and turn, turn, turn... We turn Sun wise to clear the way between worlds, we dance and we sing to ring in the new light. Following the path of the New Sun we let go old world lines of connection and open to the new world consciousness. Our circle dance might more effectively be done around a bonfire or candle flame{s) which can help us connect with the new light of the time. We might also create a circle of greenery in which to do our dance and, if so, just make sure all stems point left to get the Sunwise cosmic flow.

Turning clockwise with palms together overhead can be particularly effective for connecting with the crown light. Turning clockwise on our personal axis aligns us with the turning axis of the Earth and with its crown and heart. Turning as one with the Earth we connect with the turning axis of the Sun and, finally, with the galactic heart from which streams the new divine light. Our aim is to align with the light divine and surrender to the new spirit of the time.

Visualize Aldebaran, the star of illumination, focusing like a lens the light force, Fohat, the Active Intelligence, to the Earth’s North Pole."

Nov 2-12 Ara the Altar 2012 Global Transformation Key ~ Scorpio is the sign of transformation; 2nd decan Scorpio Ara the Altar is the most transformative decan of the zodiac and midpoint Scorpio Nov 6-7 is the most powerfully transformative degree. The symbols and myths of this decan and degree tell us how to work this transformation. The heavens bring us opportunities and opportune times when great things are possible. There is a great opportunity now to work transformation and the world needs us all to play an active part. What can we do? The first thing is to understand what this time is about and then we'll see where we're to be and what part we play.

It's more than cosmic coincidence that the U.S. election is on the most powerfully transformative day of the year. I believe this is important for the whole world as the collective psychic shadow has been conjured into consciousness to be brought to the fiery altar in this time. Yes, it is important how this election will go and it is equally important the election is occurring in this time and is such a nail biting cliff hanger to work the maximum transformation. Remember, nothing is predetermined and only the divine spirit working effectively through us can insure the right outcome.

So again what can we do? I'll say directly what looks to be most effective for insuring beneficial outcomes and then will explain by myth and symbol why I think this so. During these next few days it will be most beneficial if we arrange to be in places of natural power at times of power (canonical hours including Sunrise, Sunset and True Noon) to put our prayers and positive intentions on the air and into the collective psychic waters. What is seeded mid-Scorpio helps determines what will be in the winter season and the new year. Natural power places include the tops of mountains and hills, springs and lakes, shores and fountains, Indian mounds (heads up Ohio) and city centers and crossroads. Every city grows up around a point of natural power where the mystic can see the City Angel. 

All places of natural power - including center city squares or crossroads - come to life in this cross-quarter time. What to do there? Tradition says do 3 turns round clockwise to set a circle for magical invocation/prayer. The full Catholic formula inherited from the ancients is this: Go to the place of power (sanctuary or sacred site) at the time of power (canonical hour), ring a bell (to break the spell of past action), do a water ablution to clear the feeling body, light a candle (fire), kneel (ground) and pray. Your prayer will be answered.

How can we best work needed transformation in this time? Perhaps the most important thing to remember is to focus on the light of higher intention and breathe deeply to transmute psychic shadow or primal desire into a chi that powers the purpose that is given attention. Energy flows where attention goes is psychic energy rule one, therefore we “never look the dragon in the eye” but rather focus its energy where we want it to go.Merlin's parallel lesson to Arthur is “train your passion to serve your dreams.” These principles are especially important mid-Scorpio when all passion peaks. 

The IV of Swords meditation technique is specific to this decan and would be good to do each day. After your own shadow wolf has been transformed, tune into others you know who may need help transforming this shadow. Their soul willing you can help free another to realize their true purpose in this time. Each individual psychic shadow cleared clears shadow from the collective soul.

Two important points to keep in mind are: 1) the collective shadow of the passing age (2000 years) is now being brought to the cosmic altar to be transformed; and 2) when this constellation of astral shadow breaks, a tremendous amount of energy will be set free to channel toward new creation. Wherever attention is focused in the wake of this transformation is where this energy will go. It's time to find and follow our bliss - our soul's purpose - and get ready to power on.

This may be all that's needed to make best use of this magic time. For those who would like more of the why and details of how, let's consider more the myth, the numbers and symbols of this 2nd decan Scorpio:

Ara is the fiery Altar that Chiron sets up on the mountain to unite the gods and goddesses so they can defeat the old world Titans and begin a new age. Chiron is king of the centaurs because he has trained his passions and become a great teacher of the heroes of the age. Chiron is called  “the rainbow bridge” because he bridges between the old world and the new and between the visible and invisible realms. Chiron's myth illustrated in the heavens is a key story for our time.

A bit of overreview: The original 48 constellations – the 12 zodiac signs plus 36 more –  were described by Ptolemy and used by the ancients to interpret all that happens on Earth. This ancient knowledge is being recovered now. Each decan has its own constellation and related Tarot card (one of the 36 minor arcana). Each decan also relates to a specific 10 degree sector of the Earth. Centaurus Chiron is 2nd decan Leo, the VI of Wands (a man on horseback) Tarot card and 0-10 West in the Earth Zodiac. Everyone born Aug 2-11 is a Chiron archetype, this includes President Obama who was born on August 4.

Lupus is the Wolf that Chiron (constellation Centaurus) brings to the fiery altar Ara. Psychic shadow is transformed into light through positive focus and full deep breathing,fully in and fully out. The global shadow wolf must be brought to light and transformed before we enter the New Age. (This is what this election is about.) Lupus decan Libra 60-70 E covers Afghanistan and western Pakistan in the zodiac on Earth. The shadow wolf to be transformed here has been well highlighted now. An important point to ponder is how misdirected effort to control primal nature (the wolf) has resulted in the terrible oppression of women by the Taliban in this region.

In psychic alchemy (see Liz Greene's “Dynamics of the Unconscious”) the transformation of shadow Mars or shadow yang is called “the burning up the wolf.” Lupus the Wolf represents all that is renegade to our soul's purpose. When this psychic shadow is brought to the alchemical fire, the diverse elements of our psyche (gods and goddesses) are unified and we become whole, self-realized soul-infused beings.

As primal energy is channeled to soul purpose, kundalini rises and the rainbow bridge or antahkarana forms between Earthly and divine Nature. And finally when the 'Dweller on the Threshold' (the shadow wolf) is transformed, the “eye becomes single” and the liberated individual becomes an Initiate, a White Horse Avatar who helps lead the way into the new world. This is a prophecy for our time.

Ara the Altar is 2nd decan Scorpio, the Tarot card is the VI of Cups and 80-90 longitude East in the Earth Zodiac. Ara just brackets Nepal with Kathmandu at the Scorpio midpoint. Here in this decan are found more fiery altars than anywhere else in the world. Here also are found the highest mountains in the world and some of the oceans deepest depths, Scorpio rules the highest and lowest. It is the lowly Scorpion, the lofty Eagle and the greatPhoenix that flies as the old world is ended and the new world begins. The way of this transformation, our flying to freedom, is coded into the Scorpio decans and mid-Scorpio cross-quarter.

Ara's Tarot key VI of Cups shows a pretty scene in a small city center market where a boy is handing a vase of flowers to a girl. Behind them stands a chalice on an altar like a pillar emblazoned with a shield with the cross of St Andrew, a symbol of spiritual revolution. The VI of Cups key is the 46^th card in the Tarot deck. Chemical element # 46 is named palladium after the altar of Pallas Athena in Rome. Element palladium worn as a ring or other forms helps transmute shadow into light. 46 reduces to 10 which is the Wheel of Fortune, Nov 2-12 is when we turn the Wheel. 

Nov 7 beginning at Sunset (est) Nov 6 is a very special day. This is the magical cross-quarter day of the season and it is the midpoint Scorpio power gate of water symbolized in Tarot by the Ace of Cups. It is the place in the zodiac of the Holy Grail and of the witch queen Ana's Cauldron that is another form of the Grail that gives to all according to their need. Midpoint Scorpio is also the station of the Archangel Gabriel who awakens all souls to their purpose on Earth. This awakening is depicted in Tarot Key XX Judgment: Gabriel blows her horn calling people to be reborn out of the tombs of their old ways, the trappings of old world forms. Now we can know we are immortal souls set free to live our destiny.

The 15 degree Scorpio power gate is represented in Tarot by the Ace of Cups: A White Dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, flies down toward an overflowing chalice that rests in the palm of a hand that reaches out from a cloud. This is the Hand of Divine Providence and the Cup is the Grail of Divine Love. The flying Dove holds in its beak a white cross-quartered circle, the astrological symbol of the Earth and the Anima Mundi, the Soul of the world. Love, compassion and transformation are keynotes of the mid-Scorpio power gate. The Celts believed this mid-Scorpio cross-quarter is the creative source of the year. It's when we begin to create our world anew. During the Hallowmas hora these next 15 days,the full pattern of the emerging new world will be revealed to all who seek guidance within.

Scorpio is the sign of the Scorpion, the Eagle and the Phoenix. The Oct 29-31 Full Moon is called the Phoenix Moon because this is the aspect of Scorpio being realized this year. Scorpio is the sign of transformation, death and rebirth. Through this sign the serpent becomes the eagle as shadow is transformed into light. Shadows always come before the dawn and astral shadows transformed free energy to power our dreams. It is up to us to dream the new world but first we must purge and remake our minds for the new time. This is just what Mercury's mutual reception with Jupiter (starting 6 am gmt Oct 29) - and this clearing storm - helps us to do. Powerful forces of Mother Nature are working in concert now to bring us into a new world; we are guided in what we're to do by the spirit of all that is and is to be. 

Each Full Moon brings revelation and opportunities for healing body, mind and soul. The Full Moon is a pitcher that pours out a healing elixir we can raise our cups to receive. The effect of the Moon is strongest in the Sunset hour when the Moon is rising and at true midnight when the Moon is on high. Cosmic energies flow strongly for 3 days following Full Moon (exact time 7:48 pm gmt Oct 29). Revelations come through dreams, chance encounters and flashes of inspiration. Stay tuned! 

Extraordinary things happen at the Full Moon when the lunar orb passes through the Earth's magnetotail. Then for 5 days (2 days before and 2 after Full Moon), solar plasma flows strongly through the Earth-Moon connection and the Moon becomes so electrically charged that fine Moon dust floats above the lunar surface. This is the science; the metaphysical teaching is that solar prana and divine solar consciousness are drawn most strongly through the Earth - and through our bodies and souls - when the Moon is full.

The Sun in Scorpio Full Moon is the Hindu's Tripuri Purnima celebrating the victory of Shiva over the “city demons” Tripuri. Shiva is the god of dance, death and transformation (all things Scorpio). Lamps are lit to honor and welcome the Lord of the Dance. Dance is key to setting ourselves free and dancing is key to channeling this powerful energy most comfortably. Traditionally this Moon facilitates psychic clearing of cities and this may be especially true for U.S. east coast cities that are in the path of hurricane Sandy.

Inspirations come in the wake of this Full Moon and these guiding messages continue as Mercury passes through the insightful 8 of Wands / Lyra decan Libra 10/29-11/13. While Mercury was moving through the 7 of Cups part (3rd decan) of Scorpio 10/20-28 psychic shadows were highlighted that are to be cleared by this storm and through the Nov 13 (3rd decan Scorpio) solar eclipse that follows. Air is the element of mind and thought so wind can clear the mind as water purifies the emotional body. "Cast your worries to the wind" isn't just a quaint old expression, it's to say we can use this storm as opportunity to release what needs to be let go.

The planetary rulers of Scorpio are well positioned now to augment global transformation: Fiery Mars is moving out of bounds south (plowing our psychic depths) 10/25-11/9 and in Aquila the Eagle decan Sagittarius until Nov 4. Aquila is the bird of Jove who wields the divine lightnings and Aquila is the great Eagle of God that comes to the aid of the Woman of Revelation, this is her time. Meanwhile, the potently transformative little planet Pluto  moves slowly through Capricorn in close parallel conjunction with the North Node (our evolutionary direction, soul purpose). Pluto's mutual reception with Saturn now (and next 2 years) speaks to the ongoing transformation of the global economic order and the breaking up of the old world oligarchies.

Jupiter and Saturn, the planetary rulers of our political parties, are both now in mutual reception. While there is an astrological tradition that Saturn rules the democratic party and Jupiter the republican there is nothing to support this idea except for the original contention that Saturn being the older god should rule the older political party. This seems a specious argument to me and I believe it will be obvious to anyone who looks into this that the democratic party is ruled by the more progressive Jupiter and the republican party by the naturally more conservative Saturn. It is quite auspicious and can be no accident that we have such a powerful hurricane, a "super storm" approaching the U.S. east coast under this most powerful of Full Moons. I believe Great Spirit is the driving force behind hurricanes, an angel rides in the whirlwind according to metaphysical understanding. It is said that everything in creation - galaxies, stars, planets, all things - spin round and through rotation self identify and connect with the whole. Storms are entities, everything in the universe individuates through rotation. Our auric fields rotate too when we're healthily relaxed and turning clockwise can help set us free. Hurricanes spin counterclockwise so these storms invoke or bring energy in as well as clearing away. As old patterns break energy is freed for what's to be.

Storms have a great transforming effect on the global psychic field exercising clearing influence throughout the degrees of longitude they pass through. My prayer is that the constellation of shadow that's been brought to our awareness be broken and transformed and that the psychic energy set free by this storm is channeled to reveal to us the higher truths that can help us realize our destiny. 

The nature of a storm like the nature of a person can be read in the Tarot arcana of its name numbers. The name Sandy is from Alexandrea and means "defender of humankind." The letters of Sandy sum to 18 the Moon which connects us with the collective unconscious, the realm of the archetypes and all creative possibilities. 18 reduces to 9 the number of the Hermit and identified with Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Within the 9 is found the 3 which is the Empress crowned with stars. The Empress Tarot Key 3 also represents the goddess Ceres/Demeter the high queen of Nature and mother of the world. Being the favorite of enlightenment era Freemasons, Ceres with her torch was chosen as the model for our Statue of Liberty. True liberty is soul freedom, not license to satisfy addictions and base desire. This distinction is about to be made clear.

I believe one purpose of hurricane Sandy is to help clear our east coast psyches before the Nov 6 election. This is timely as psychic shadows have been conjured out on both sides of the political aisle and these can presumably be cleared where this storm has effect. All shadow patterns are conjured out before the storm. Part of this clearing also comes through the many natural fires that will appear in fireplaces following the storm. Fire gazing is one of the best ways to clear the mind, refocus and receive inspirations for the new time. 

Beyond the purpose of energy clearing Sandy Superstorm appears to be positioning the jet stream as a powerful conveyor belt to draw energy up the Atlanta - DC - Philadelphia - New York - Boston chakra city line along which the Feathered Serpent is predicted to fly on that numinous date 21 Dec 2012 (when the Sun aligns with our newly active galactic center). The Flight of the Feathered Serpent is a Mayan prophecy reflecting the activation of this and another (eastern) 7-city chakra line.

The western world's city chakra line begins with Mexico City / Tenochtitlan (the root chakra where the "feathered serpent" is coiled) and ends with London, the Crown. The eastern hemisphere line begins with Nairobi and includes Mumbai, Darjeeling and Tokyo. In each case these cities are in a direct straight line and correspond perfectly with the chakras in sequence. 

Washington DC is the solar plexus on our western chakra line, Philadelphia ("city of brotherly love") is the heart center, NYC is the creative throat chakra and Boston the brow. All these cities/chakras are being cleared now in preparation for the coming transformation. When the two great transnational energy flow (ley) lines become activated we will experience a global initiation and the realization of the global consciousness for which the internet has been preparing the world. This is what it all looks like to me, we'll see.
